Can I Copyright My AI Manga?

The U.S. Copyright Office's Part 2 report (January 29, 2025) holds that purely AI-generated output is not eligible for copyright registration without meaningful human authorship.

What counts as human authorship for a manga: the script you wrote, the panel selection and arrangement, the dialogue, and any edits you made to AI output. Pure prompt-and-publish — without script, arrangement, or editing — is not registrable in isolation.

Named-IP Risk: Don't Prompt Goku or Sailor Moon
